Overlay info's and controls

After loading an image to the editor, by default all control elements are displayed on top of the image shown.

At the top-left you see the RGB histogram. To the right of the histogram you can find the pixel resolution (width by height) the image was loaded with and the current zoom factor in percent.

Reset and 100%

At the upper-right corner the reset and the 100% buttons are displayed. Press the reset button to set the currently active immediate filter (exposure/brightness, gamma brightness, contrast or saturation) to its default value (so it does not change the image). Press the 100% button to see the loaded image in its original size (every pixel on the device displays an original pixel of the image).

Immediate filters

The active immediate filter can be toggled by pressing the dynamic icon at the lower-left side of the screen (toggles between exposure/brightness, gamma brightness, contrast and saturation. Change the intensity of the active immediate filter that is to be applied to the image by using the slider at the bottom of the screen. For fine-adjustment press the minus and plus symbols shown at the sides of the slider.

Auto corrections

The auto white balance and image automatic buttons are displayed on the left, above the immediate filter controls. Use auto white balance to correct the colors of an image (e.g. if it shows a greenish tint), press the image automatic button to improve the quality of the picture (e.g. if there seems to be a gray "fog" above the image).

Info button

The Info button at the lower-right opens a pop-up that shows the full path to the image file loaded, its current pixel resolution, the current view zoom scale, the loading mode used (high color depth or high resolution mode) and its original pixel resolution.

Multitouch

Press and hold the image displayed to hide the control elements. Press and hold again to bring them back.

If just a part of the image is visible (caused by current zoom level used) double click on the image to completely see it. Double click again to go back to the last zoom level and part of the image that was shown before.

Change the zoom scale - zoom in/out of the image by using two fingers. There is no smoothing done, you see the exact pixel data of the output image (apart from later file format dependent compression artifacts).

Use one finger to scroll the image, if the current zoom level allows it.

View menu

The 100% entry has the same functionality as the button on the screen (see "Overlay controls" section). The other two options are used to permanently hide/show overlay info's and/or controls from the display.

Device orientation

You have two independent views available in PhotoRhino. Rotate the device from/to landscape/portrait mode to use them.
